CMMBA Trail Building and Maintenance Tools
Central Michigan
The Central Michigan Mountain Bike Association maintains over 70 miles of local trails, including many miles that were damaged by flooding in May 2020 and are in desperate need of maintenance. They also intend to keep up their stewardship on several trail systems currently in the planning stages. The club volunteers plenty of their time and supports the local youth cycling team, the Midland Mountain Bike Crew. Now they just need the tools and trailer to keep their amazing work going.
To keep your bike trails in good shape, the Central Michigan Mountain Bike Association needs some good tools. CMMBA is raising funds to purchase an enclosed tool trailer and hand tools to use for trail workdays. They plan to add custom graphics to the trailer, promoting IMBA, CMMBA and the local youth cycling team, the Midland Mountain Bike Crew. Any donors who contribute $500 or more to the project will also get their logo on the trailer.
The trailer would be used to maintain local trails, including Gladwin Recreation Area (7 miles), AuSable State Forest (26 miles), Pine Haven (14 miles), Midland City Forest (13 miles), Deerfield Nature Park (10 miles), and several trail systems that are currently in the planning stage.
Along with the trailer, the crew is hoping to purchase two backpack leaf blowers, various hand tools and the supplies needed to build tool racks and storage. They would also like to outfit the trailer with ice chests and a grill for trail day support. (Who wouldn’t want to join this crew?) In the future, they are looking at purchasing a groomer for winter fat biking that would most likely be kept in the trailer.
