What would we do without trails?

Testimonials

"I awarded a contract to Trail Solutions for assistance with volunteer coordination, trail design, and development of a Risk Management Plan on the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit. We have unique environmental, recreational and political challenges on the National Forests we manage. Chris Bernhardt has been exceptional to work with in many regards. He is professional, knowledgeable about resources, knowledgeable about trail design, an excellent communicator, has good attention to detail, and is fun to work with. Chris embodies qualities that I wish all the contractors I work with have. He is a rare individual in the world of government contracting and I want to recognize his dedication, passion, and ability."

-- Garrett Villanueva, USFS Region 5 Trail Engineer

"IMBA's Trail Solutions crew did a remarkable job on our trail project (Evans Creek Canyon, Reno, NV) - we are still getting comments from the many types of trail users on the high quality of the new trail. They were very professional, enthusiastic and thorough; we would definitely hire them again."

-- Truckee Meadows Trail Association

"The work we did during your visit is holding well and getting rave reviews. We will be racing on it May 1-2. Thank you for all your assistance. You have been a fantastic source of information. If there is anything we can do for you, please let me know. Also, next time you visit the area, give us a yell so we can do some great Florida riding."

--Dwayne Huffman, Tallahassee, FL Parks Division Trail Coordinator

"IMBA is so impressive with their professional attitude, experience and knowledge about trail design, construction and maintenance. Their connection to the rest of the bike world is also a huge asset because they come up with creative ideas not only for trails but also for making summer activities in the mountains more fun!"

"Soon we came upon Rich Edwards. He introduced himself as a full time IMBA employee and said had to take a break from the Sweco due to a swarm of yellow jackets but was quickly strapping on riding shoes and was taking down his bike to do a little test riding. Five minutes later, Rich was whooping and hollering as he was "testing the flow" of the trail."

"Let me make this letter a little less than a novel and simply say that the conversations with Rich were inspiring, to say the least. He absolutely believes that FATS (Forks Area Trail System, Sumter National Forest, SC) will absolutely be a destination for mtb'ers from afar! People, I am STOKED!"

"My wife and I went out and walked at least 1.5 miles of the new trails, and all I can utter is WOW! This thing flows beautifully! Again, WOW! I look forward to seeing all of you out there, sweating! Whether the sweating is on a trail work day or on the bicycle is irrelevant! This is going to be a fun ride!"

"More Joey KleinŠ PLEASE! It was a real pleasure to work with Joey Klein the last two weeks. What a treasure you have there! He got us all fired up and excited about the possibilities we have here in the King Range. We can't wait to get him back! With that in mind, we'd like to get him back here to help us with National Public Lands Appreciation Day on September 24 and 25 when we plan to complete construction on one leg of the Paradise Ridge mountain bike trail. We hooked up Joey with the coach of the local high school mountain bike team, who spent two days working with Joey on the trail route. Hešs enthusiastic about helping with this project, and is key to recruiting other crew leaders and mountain bike volunteers. We think we have a good thing going on here. Thanks again for sending him our way!"

-- Gary Pritchard-Peterson, Manager, King Range National Conservation Area, CA

"I'd like to take a moment to compliment a member of your staff for work being accomplished at the Silver Mountain Ski Area. I had been to visit the area and review the locations of some proposed mountain bike trails. At that meeting, I had the opportunity to meet Joey Klein of your staff."

"Mr. Klein had been laying out trails on the mountain and supervising initial construction of the trails on Silver Mountain property. These trails may eventually cross BLM land intermingled with Silver Mountain's private property. I was most impressed with Mr. Klein's professionalism and experience. He was well-versed in our concerns regarding soil erosion, keeping bikers on the trails, constructing the trails in a minimum impact manner, conflicts with other uses, and practical concerns about trailheads and signage. He had well thought-out responses to all my questions, and showed me on constructed segments of the trail just how BLM's concerns would be addressed."

"Mr. Klein is a very credible representative for your organization and the bike industry. Best wishes for your, and his, continued success.

-- Scott Forssell, BLM Coeur d'Alene ID Field Office

"Scott Linnenburger is heading out next week to help with the Trek employee trails- thanks for the help in making this happen. As we get building, I'm sure I'll be asking for more of IMBA's expertise and assistance. Our corporate goal of this project is obvious; get more Trek employees on mountain bikes- more often. And that includes everyone- from our welders to the president. Nothing but good things can come of that!"

--Dean Gore, Trek/Gary Fisher Director of Marketing

"More Rich... Please! Rich did another great job with the presentation to Park Authority staff. He is so good! What IMBA and Rich has done, has and will continue to change mountain biking in Fairfax County. Yesterday when Rich presented the success of the Wakefield project to Fairfax County land planers, project managers and maintenance supervisors he really impressed them. The quality of his presentation and the end product, the trails, left a lasting impression on what IMBA and Trail Solutions can do for an agency. Fairfax County is one of the largest and riches counties in America so it is not a simple task to leave a strong impression and Rich did. Another great success story to add to IMBAšs resume. Thanks. How soon can we schedule phase two?

"I rode our new trails tonight. I know you only know me through our emails but here is why that is significant. I was a rider, a masteršs expert and I did ok. A couple of seconds at the national championships, but never made the top rung. Because of a previous accident and age (52 at the time) I had to have a hip replaced. After a good bit of surgery and rehab I could walk pretty well and have been getting better ever since. That was two years ago, just about to this date. Working on the trails, Rich, and all the volunteers, many who were old friends, sparked that interest to ride again. And tonight I did! What would we do without trails? Thanks."

-- Bill Hellwig, Manager, Audrey Moore Recreation Center/Wakefield Trails, VA

"Rich, I never really got a chance to say "Thanks" for a wonderful job youšve done for Wissahickon Park. As I probably told you, I was against hiring you in the beginning, but you proved me totally wrong. Hopefully you can come this fall and show us how to work on rocky trails."
