Cheyenne Mountain State Park, Colorado

Project Type: Design
Length: 15 miles in 2003
Use: mountain bike, hike
Dimensions: 18" to 36"

Trail Solutions teamed with lead construction contractor, Arrowhead Trails, and the local IMBA-affiliated Medicine Wheel mountain bike club to design 15 miles of new trail in brand new Cheyenne Mountain State Park outside Colorado Springs. The contracting crews worked with the club to design technically challenging, narrow singletrack, then worked together to design trail that would bring trail users up to the best views from the park in a sustainable manner. Incorporating numerous rock outcropping features into the side of the trail, the result is a trail corridor that will satisfy users of a wide ability spectrum. With loops ranging from two to seven miles, an outing on the Cheyenne Mountain trails could last a half hour or a half day.
